Your honeymoon should be the most relaxing, amazing time of your life. You survived planning and executing your wedding, you're now blissfully married and done with the wedding stress, and you finally get some alone time with your sexy new spouse. So many people skip the honeymoon, opting to "go later" or not at all because they don't have the finances to be able to go, which is understandable since honeymoons can get real pricey, real fast. My hubby and I were able to plan an all-inclusive, week-long honeymoon to absolutely stunning Ocho Rios, Jamaica for only $2,100 thanks to a lot of diligent researching and some great luck!
When it came time to plan my own honeymoon, I was a nervous wreck planning and ordering a package online, afraid that I might end up planning our most important vacation through a scam sight. I researched and looked through every possible website and source before finally settling on
TNT Vacations website, which offered a wide range of all-inclusive vacations to a variety of gorgeous, tropical destinations and had surprisingly affordable prices. As I mentioned, my hubby and I were able to get away for a week for only $2,100, and that included all of our food, booze (including the daily-stocked mini-bar in the room), 2 different excursions, an upgrade to an oceanfront room, and our round-trip airfare from Boston to Jamaica with shuttle to and from the airport. I was shocked at the deal we got, and still expected to either not receive our tickets and stuff in time (or maybe not at all - yikes!), or to arrive in Jamaica to find our resort was terrible. Luckily (and very happily for me) our tickets and everything arrived 2 weeks before our wedding date - as promised - and when we arrived at our resort, it was literally breathtaking.
We had arrived pretty late, so we grabbed some booze, a bucket with ice and two glasses from our room and camped out on the empty, moonlit beach, toasting to the first night of our honeymoon in such a beautiful place. We awoke the next morning to find the most amazing view from our balcony when we opened our curtains...the oceanfront upgrade was definitely worth it!!!

Situated right on the water, the resort sprawled across lush green lawns and opened to a gorgeous, sandy beach. It was open-concept and meticulously decorated with marble floors and walls, fresh flowers everywhere and the smell of the ocean hanging in the air.

Besides the gorgeous resort, all of the staff was amazingly friendly and helpful, the food was delectable and there was no end of activities to do. There were constant activities offered on the resort; such as scuba diving, snorkeling and catamaran sailing, and tons of off-resort excursions you could easily sign up for as well. Hubby and I decided to book the Ocho Rios Highlites and Dunn's River Falls Excursion, where we got to visit the nearby markets, the rain forest and Dunn's River Falls; then we also booked a full-day
Chukka Caribbean Adventures ATV Safari, which was my first time on an ATV and SO much fun!!

At the resort, we took advantage of the gorgeous beach, huge pools (with swim-up bars!!!) spa couples massage, and the sunset snorkeling trip, which went amazing since the other party cancelled, so my hubby and I got a private snorkeling trip with a guide!

This vacation ended up being far more affordable for us than we ever imagined, mostly because of the all-inclusive benefits. We had researched cruises and staying on other islands, but found Jamaica to be the most reasonable, especially with the all-inclusive package. With most cruises and many resorts, you end up paying for your drinks and sometimes food, so it can add up super quick. We found that when you're planning a vacation on a budget, finding a deal like this is key to being able to vacation stress-free.
The week seemed to go by in the blink of an eye, but it was the most amazingly relaxing, carefree, fun-filled week of my life. I was so sad to have to come back to the freezing cold of Maine after a week in tropical paradise and plan to return as soon as we can!
