Smooth Intervention: Two New Smoothing Systems To Tame That Summer Frizz

Oh, the joys of Summertime...

     Don't you just looooove summer? The sun, the beach, the frosty drinks...the frizz?? Ugh. If your hair is anything like mine, come summer, I could literally be mistaken for a lion with this out-of-control mane. And who wants to spend hours blow-drying, straightening and battling seemingly endless frizz in 90 degree weather? Not me! And now that I've tried these two new smooth lines, I don't have to!!! The hardest choice now? Picking which fabulously smoooooth line to use!

So, what about these new smoothing systems?

L'Oreal Advanced Haircare Smooth Intense

     I had originally tried L'Oreal's Advanced Haircare line when they came out with the color protection line and fell in love. It kept my bright, red hair vivid for weeks and made it touchably soft, shiny and manageable. So when the summer humidity hit, I thought it would be so great to try out their Smooth Intense line. After 2 weeks of use, I am totally hooked. The shampoo and conditioner smell amazing, my hair was sleek, soft, shiny and so NOT my hair!!! I noticed a difference after my very first use, and it keeps getting better the more you keep using. Perfectly smooth hair in the dead of summer? Talk about incentive! It promises 72-hours of friz control, instantly more polished and smooth hair, and noticeably less frizz with continued use. On days that I chose to let my hair air-dry, the system kept my hair smooth and soft, and once it was completely dry it was frizz-free and shiny. No blow-drying or straightening to get my hair to look like this?! I'm in!!! 

Vidal Sassoon Pro Series VSSmooth

     Not the kind of girl to stick to one product, I came across the VS Smooth system while grocery shopping and decided to give it a try. I used Vidal Sassoon waaaaay back when I was in high school and they carried a shampoo and conditioner line called Melon Rose. It smelled amazing and my hair always looked great, so when I saw they came out with their new Pro Series lines, I was curious to see how their new products would compare. What better line to try in humid, July weather than the smooth line? After 2 weeks of use, I really love this smooth line too! Promising to stop frizz before it starts, and to keep your hair smooth, even in 80% humidity (and with an amazing scent too! YUM!), the line is "perfected by experts" but is still easy on your wallet. My hair felt soft and smooth right after my first shampoo, and, even if I did not blow-dry and straighten my hair, it turned out smooth, shiny and healthy looking.
